THE DECADENT AND ARTFUL STYLE OF DAPHNE GUINNESS

Below are a series of ten photos from Vogue Italia
"The Honourable Daphne Guinness" photographed by Steven Kline

On the cover an amazing head-dress and cuffs accent
her shimmering dress - Valentino Couture

Valentino Couture ~and her signature finger cuffs ~ brilliant!

Armani Prive´ beaded top - protected from aliens by a hound dog.

Valentino gown paired with double healed sling backs.

The Givenchy gown is lovely but I am really quite taken with the
diamond eye patch...

Christian Lacrioux - always one of my favorites

Simply stunning sheer Christian Dior gown

Christian Dior as well. Sheer dress coat with fur cuff and collar.

Beautiful Givenchy dress with draped neckline, silver cuffs
on wrist and fingers as well... Oh how I would love to see this
in my very own closet!!!

These next photos show off her signature black striped
platinum hair... Cruella Devil would definitely approve.

Oh what a glorious cape of yards and yards of red taffeta.

The picture above is my favorite of Daphne Guinness

The first of several top hat pictures. So chic.

WINTER WONDERLAND

She gazes out her ice frosted window perhaps inviting us into her winter wonderland...

Snugly swathed in a warm wrap of twisted and knotted fiber over a snow white gown she
reads the dreams of others...

Perched upon a stepstool in a lovely frock of blush drapery, she shakes the dusting of snow from
a book filled with stories frozen in time.

Her hair bound in heavy black ribbons, scooping up the skirt of her sheer black gown, her hand weighted down by her dramatic silver and black onyx bracelet and ring she navigates the slippery staircase.

In black satin robe, she fans the flames to warm her heart....

Such a wonderful taffeta, bustled skirt topped with a white fox jacket belted at the waist and a matching fox hat.... if only she could see her reflection

She looks stunning beneath her glamorous black and white fur hat as she melts into her bath.

Wrapped up in her sumptuous black fur, she finally steps out into the falling snow.

A well dressed day in a life of snow.

LIU WEN for VOGUE CHINA

Model Liu Wen photographed by Paolo Roversi and amazingly styled by Nicoletta Santoro.

A stunning Louis Vitton off the shoulder dress starts off this retro shoot filled with the look of polished sophistication.

Marvelous Prada geometric print dress. The long narrow sleeves make the dress.

Belted car coat length evening jacket with three quarter-length sleeves. That is the way to wear 3/4 sleeves... with elbow length gloves. It makes a perfect balance.

I adore this dress but I adore the long slouch gloves even better!

This poised face of elegance and grace is why Lui Wen is my favorite photographic model. Extraordinary beauty.

Such a dramatic look from the waved head of hair to the jeweled toed shoes! The rhinestone ribbon broach and cuff are wonderful and I want them. Please.

Thigh high stockings peeking out from under a playful 50's inspired full skirted cocktail jumper with tulle under-skirt. Such a sassy little look.

I simply adore the is the Rita Hayworth-esque black mane of hair in this shot. Stunning!

This long sleeved sheer black and white polka-dot silk chiffon dress with black under slip is so very lovely. It is seldom we see the elegance of a long sleeved dress these days. It is one of the reasons I love retro recreations in fashion. The knotted braid belt is perfect for this cinched waist beauty.

Ruby red lips offset a backdrop of black and white.

ODE TO FLAMENCO ~Olé!

I applaud the incredible styling of Cristiane Arp, the amazing work of
photographer Alexi Lubromirski and the accomplishment of model Julie Stegner
in genuinely portraying the art of the dance of Flamenco.
{original published December 2008 as "Wie Gemalt"]

Yards and yards of billowing silk in this astonishing skirt. *sigh*

Notice how the straps of those magnificent purple shoes mimic the seaming in the
dress.

I would love to touch this blouse of multi-colored rosettes. Such yummy texture.

The black and red check fabric of this dress has a wonderful flow to it. I would
be curious to know if the model, Julia Stegner is also a dancer. She certainly has
the posture of one and has mastered wonderfully the stance of Flamcnco.

I love black and white stripes!! They are so dramatic.

The most gorgeous strapless dress of crimson feathers with an
underskirt of white ruffled tulle. This gown is a work of art.

I am loving how the roses in the dress fabric are duplicated in the tights. Perfect!

Flamenco dancers could never, ever, ever use botox... the dance requires the angst
of the furrowed brow.

Here is a close-up of the bodice of this beautiful red gown. The hand sewn ruching
and bustle like bowing in in the back are exqusite!

Traditional Spanish Mantilla

So simple yet so busy.

I find the stunning petals of pleated drapery - unexpectedly graceful
